Influencer Tip: Should you just Email listings???
- An Influencer understands the power of authority and commitment (another one of the laws of Influence) when it comes to forms of communication.
- The lowest level of authority and commitment is email/text. That is why clients love it. They can get the agent to share info without needing to fully commit or give up authority. The highest level of authority and commitment is face to face.
- The rational reasons given by many (pre qualification, etc) to meet face to face are all true, however the Influencer reason is that to gain authority and commitment from a buyer, face to face first. Can you imagine asking a Dr. “Just send me different meds, and when I see one I like I will let you know”..The Dr will say, make an appointment in my office.
- If it’s not feasible to meet at first (out of town buyer), then have a phone conversation. Telephone is the second level ,below face to face, of authority/commitment.
- So why do many agents defer to email? It’s also the lowest level of emotional rejection. ( Thus the problem w online dating too).
