Influencer Tip: Making your point impactful.

  • — The Influencer understands that the less is said or written about something, the more impactful, important and authoritative it is perceived. RE Agents can have the bad habit of over explaining a statement. I have seen this in emails and often heard it in conversations. When you make a statement, example, “the price you want is too high. If you look at the comps and compare them to what you want, you will see that. Buyers will see it and won’t come. Yada yada yada….” The more you explain, the more you are diluting the initial statement. Additionally, the negotiating aspect of any command or statement occurs in the reasons why, not the actual statement.  Remember the days of when your Mother said “bedtime is 9:00”..we would ask why, answer “because I said so”. We didn’t have room to negotiate, did we?
