The Giving of The Gift

Real Estate Influencer Tip: The Gift

  • —Giving a gift to clients during the holiday season seems pretty basic. It’s the thought that counts, right? Wrong. The Influencer understands everything they do should have a deeper effect. You want your gift to make as big of an impression as possible. Understanding the subliminal effect to the type of gift you give is key. First, let me clarify, this is situational, it may no apply to EVERY client.
  • —Pies or desert : Deserts are intimate and creates a personal closeness (rather than business) to a client.
  • —However, here are some things to be aware of: Your gift may actually be competing with what your client is offering to their guest or what her guest may bring. This is especially true if your client bakes her own.
  • —Additionally, most people serve more than one desert at a time, so your gift may not even be noticed. Another important fact is that we are subconsciously connected with what we give. If your gift is barely touched , the perception can be “people didn’t like it or want it” . That is one perception you do not want associated with you. The last key point, and this is for couples, is that the supporter, not the decision maker of a couple usually handles the desert. You always want to try to connect with the decision maker.
  • —Wine: less intimate, associated with class, and usually people serve one bottle at a time, thus more focus on your gift by Everyone. Also, if it isn’t finished, it’s not the wine but the guests drinking habits associated with it.
  • —If the client doesn’t serve it, they can re gift it . Additionally, you are not competing with someone who spent hours in the kitchen baking
  • —And lastly, wine is associated with both the supporter and the decision maker.
  • —Go with the wine and NEVER include your business info, just a nice thoughtful note with your name.
